Ferter at VC Unlocked Program

After two intense weeks at VC Unlocked, I returned with a clearer vision for FERTER.

Some of my key takeaways from the program:

- An investment thesis is not simply a list of sectors. It’s a belief you can explain, defend, and test.
- A strong decision framework should help you reach a disciplined “no”—not only justify the companies you already want to back.
- AI can help investors process more information, but conviction, judgment, and relationships remain deeply human.
- The goal is not to copy the Silicon Valley playbook. It’s to understand the principles and build a model that reflects the opportunities and strengths of our own region.

That last point was especially relevant to me. I’m back in Mexico with greater conviction about the work ahead: refining Ferter’s thesis and helping build the investment ecosystem we want to see in our region.
